  SCHOOL UNIFORM LIST

Please read these notes carefully.

The correct school uniform is compulsory during school hours and on the journey to and from school.

All items on the list are compulsory unless clearly marked 'optional'.

If for some urgent reason, your child has to wear any non-uniform article of clothing to school, he or she must come with a note to the class teacher explaining the reason and requesting permission.

The uniform worn at this school can be bought at a wide variety of chain stores or at John Lewis in Oxford Street. School ties, St. Mary's sweatshirts and fleeces are sold in school by volunteers from the Friends of St. Mary's every Tuesday afternoon immediately after school.

Throughout this list, 'plain' means one colour only, without logos, flashes, ornament etc. 'dark' means black, navy, dark brown or dark grey.

The school colours are blue and yellow.

Parents are responsible for seeing that their children are correctly dressed and wear their uniform smartly, particularly in public places.

School clothing should be clearly marked with your child’s name. Sewn-on name tapes are recommended for clothes and indelible pen for shoes etc. The school can provide printed name tapes for a small fee. All outdoor coats and jackets should have a hanging loop in working order. Parents should check this regularly.

Summer uniform is worn between the dates notified to parents by the headteacher: they vary from year to year. An exception is made for children newly admitted to the school in September, who may wear Winter uniform from admission.
