"The Friends of St. Mary's" is an association of people who wish the school well and are prepared to offer their time, talents or money to work for the children in many different ways.

All parents automatically become members on the enrolment of their child. The Friends also include staff and governors; former staff, pupils and parents and neighbours.

The Friends support the work of the school in practical ways such as helping in classrooms and on visits, looking after the garden and selling uniform, fundraising, organising social events and many other activities.

The members choose people to represent them on a committee: parents in each class, the teachers and non-teaching staff, the governors and people from the local parish. This committee co-ordinates the efforts of all the Friends and welcomes volunteers who would like to be involved.

We rely on this immensely important support to enrich the life of our school and maintain the standards which we all wish for our children.
