Attendance

We gave out individual 100% attendance certificates on Friday for Terms 3 and 4 (the Spring terms). We also awarded our ‘Attendance Cup’ to the class with the best attendance for the Spring. This cup has been won term after term for almost two years by our current Year 2; an amazing feat considering that younger children are more likely to pick up illnesses than older children.

However, Year 2 were beaten into third place in the Spring term and the cup was won, not by an older class but by Year 1, who won  with 97.1% attendance. Well done, Year 1!

  • Year 1: 97.1%

  • Year 2: 95.7%

  • Year 3: 95.9%

  • Year 4: 95.4%

  • Year 5: 94.4%

  • Year 6: 95%

St Mary's Orchestra Needs You!

If your child is learning to play an instrument at school, or out of school, we would like him/her to join our school orchestra. The orchestra meets every Tuesday morning at 8.30 and welcomes anyone at any level with any instrument.

Musical Extravaganza

Our musicians would like to invite their families and friends to an evening of musical entertainment on TUESDAY, 22nd JUNE at 6.30. Please put this date in your diary.

The World in our City

Today sees the culmination of a music project with the BBC that Year 5 have been involved with for two years. They perform tonight at the Royal Albert Hall and most of our classes are going to see the dress rehearsal and support them this afternoon.

 Year 6 SATs

Well done to everyone in Year 6 for all their efforts last week. We won’t know how well they’ve done until we get their papers back in June or July but, unofficially (based on looking over children’s shoulders—not very scientific!) we think they’ve done well and we’re really pleased with them. Everyone came in every day - even some children who were ill and would probably have stayed at home if it was any other week.

More SATs

Year 2 are still doing their assessments. Most of their assessments are based on what they are doing day after day in class, but we still have to level their attainment accurately. They also do some tests, but they don’t carry anything like the same weight as the Year 6 tests. The children in KS2 (Year 3, 4 and 5) will also be doing tests over the next week or so, up to half term.
