End of Term

We break up for Easter on THURSDAY this week (1st April.) Please remember to collect children from classes at 1.15.

Please note that Thursday is NOT a non-uniform day; we’ve had a lot of non-uniform days and dressing-up days since Christmas so Thursday is a normal day for uniform.

I hope everyone has a restful, peaceful holiday and we’ll see you all again on MONDAY, 19th April.

Science Week

It was a very good week last week and the children really seemed to enjoy themselves as well as learn some new things! To quote one child, “there’s been a treat every day in school this week.” Many thanks to Charlotte Crowther for organising all of this and to the ‘Friends’ Association for funding the farm.

Recycling

For  well over a year we’ve had a box to collect old inkjet printer cartridges and laser toner cartridges; it’s just inside the front door of the school, on the left. It’s now been joined by a tubular box for recycling your old batteries.

Easter Fun Day

Land Securities are repeating their successful Easter Family Fun Day from last year at Cardinal Place. All activities are free and the event runs from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, 3rd April at Cardinal Place (just off Victoria Street near Victoria station).

Information

We’re updating the information we hold in school, particularly the medical information that we hold.

If your child has any serious allergies, asthma, etc, please make sure that we know about it. If your child keeps any prescribed medication in school (asthma inhaler, epi-pen, etc) please check it’s still ‘in date’ and take any expired medicines home, or back to a pharmacy.

Also, if your mobile ‘phone number has changed, or your emergency contact details have changed in any way, please let us know so we can update our records.

Home Access Grant

The government have set aside some money in the form of grants to enable families on limited incomes to have a free laptop (forever) and free internet access (for a year.) If you think you might qualify, take a look at the back of the newsletter in your child's bookbag for the eligibility criteria.
