It’s World Book
Day on Thursday and to mark this we are taking a ‘healthy eating’
theme. We’ll be using this as an opportunity for all the children to
do some cooking in school either this week or next and we will be
reinforcing all of our ‘healthy eating’ messages. An author, Charlie
Duncan, will be in school to talk to some of the older children as
well as lead some fun activities in the afternoon.
On Thursday we
are suggesting that the children could come to school dressed as
chefs/cooks: a chef’s hat and an apron, perhaps, or something a bit
more elaborate if you prefer! On the back of this newsletter are
instructions for making a chef’s hat! We are not asking for any
donations on this day. Hopefully it will be a bit of fun as well as
reminding us of a serious message.
If your child
brings a packed lunch, perhaps you could talk about what goes into
it and be especially ‘health conscious’ this week. If your child has
a school lunch, perhaps you could talk to them about their choices
at lunch time and encourage them to choose a balanced meal.
Correction
I said last week that our
parents and governors evening was on Thursday, 16th March - it’s
actually
TUESDAY, 16th March.
Secondary Schools
Our thoughts are
with the children in Year 6 and their families this week. The
secondary school offers are sent out by Westminster Council today
and should be with families from tomorrow.
