Contact Details

Before the holiday I explained that we’re updating the information we hold in school, particularly medical information.

If your child has any serious allergies, asthma, etc, please make sure that we know about it. If your child keeps any prescribed medication in school (asthma inhaler, epi-pen, etc) please check it’s still ‘in date’ and take any expired medicines home, or back to a pharmacy.

Also, if your mobile ‘phone number has changed, or your emergency contact details have changed in any way, please let us know so we can update our records.

Holidays

I hope everybody had a good holiday - at least the weather was good. The disruptions to air travel have obviously caused a lot of our families and staff a great deal of stress and many families are still stuck abroad. We also have staff who have been caught up in this and are currently finding ingenious (and expensive) ways of getting back to the UK from the Middle East and Morocco; we hope to see them soon but, in the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with everybody who is struggling to get home.

Before School Club

I’d just like to remind people that we offer a ‘Before School Club’ (breakfast club) to any families who would find this useful. There is a small charge for this club. Although we have called this a breakfast club, breakfast is not compulsory! Some families who use this club give their child a breakfast at home and then use the club as affordable childcare before school. If you’re interested, please talk to Sheelagh Leith who can give you all the details.

Awnings

The awnings outside Year 1, 2 and 3 were installed over the Easter holiday and they shade the classroom windows perfectly. I’d like to thank to the Rose Foundation for their funding of this work. The Rose Foundation are a local charity who support small building projects. In the past we have had grants from them for the air-conditioning in Years 5 and 6, security cameras and the resurfacing of the car park and access road.

School Lunch

We returned to school today and discovered we had no gas for the kitchen. Today the children had a cold, packed lunch but the gas is now restored and we expect to be serving hot food tomorrow.
