Black History Month

Black History Month is an international event that celebrates the lives, achievements and contributions of black and minority ethnic people and communities. It is an event that has been celebrated in the UK for over twenty-two years. Sonia Walker, our EMA (Ethnic Minority Achievement) coordinator is organising an assembly Friday 23rd October. She writes:

“A Black History Month Assembly based upon the theme of ‘role models and aspirations’ will be held in the school hall on Friday 23rd October at 9.15 am. I am looking for inspirational people  to speak during this assembly. If you would like to speak at the assembly, or to a class, please contact me through the school office by Thursday, 15th October.”
