The 'Big Draw' November 2003 |

In the Autumn Term of 2003 we took part in the Campaign for Drawing's national 'Big Draw' event. The event was organised in school by Mineli Wolf (one of our governors) and Kyra Sheppard (our Reading Recovery teacher). Our junior classes and Year 2 each visited a place of worship, where they sketched whatever they found interesting. These sketches later formed the basis of their work in school. |
| We visited the Mosque at Regent's Park, Hinde Street Methodist Church, All Saints Margaret Street, The West London Synagogue and the Hindu temple in Neasden. When the children came back to school the classes each worked with an established artist on their ideas. The children's work was exhibited in school. The exhibition was open to children, parents and friends of the school and invited guests. It was a great success and the school was judged a 'runner-up' in the the Space and Place category of the Arts Council of England's competition. We were the only school named in this category! |
